Operation Breakthrough was founded by Sister Berta Sailer and Sister Corita Bussanmas.  They saw a need in the urban core of Kansas City to provide a safe place for children to learn, have shelter and food and to enable the working poor to provide for their children better by providing care while they are working at little to no cost.  Operation Breakthrough serves over 600 children and has more than 1200 kids on their waiting list.  They give priority to homeless children and children below the poverty level. www.operationbreakthrough.org
